IN A NUTSHELL
Zac Stone here – PhD and human multi-tool. I am a skilled researcher, writer, editor, instructional designer, and crossword constructor.
A recent graduate of the Department of Criminology, Law & Society at UC Irvine, in March of 2021 I successfully defended my dissertation, a social history of anticommunism in Los Angeles in the 1950s. Ask me about the progressive teacher purge of 1953!
Through my graduate career, I spent several years as the project manager for a top to bottom overhaul of my department's online master's program. I took on the role of instructional designer, coordinating with faculty and subject matter experts to design dynamic instructional content for courses in criminal justice and law, as well as maintaining the learning management system and implementing disability compliance measures.
In my free time I operate a boutique puzzle shop online, through which I construct customized crosswords.
